RSC Data Centre for HPC/AI
RSC Data Centre for HPC/AI presents a for the high-performance computing segment, machine learning and deep learning tasks — a fully integrated solution for high-performance computing up to hundreds of PFFLOPS and POPS, based on the ‘RSK Tornado’ cluster architecture developed by the RSK Group of Companies.
The solution comprises all the necessary subsystems of a modern data centre: a software-defined, task-specific computing array of high-performance servers and data storage systems, communication networks, and power supply, cooling and fire suppression subsystems. All subsystems are fully integrated and managed using the vertically integrated BazIS RSK software. The customer simply needs to add users and the system is ready to go! The solution can be adapted and configured on the fly to suit the specific needs of the system user.
The RSK data centre for HPC/AI is built on the ‘RSK Tornado’ cluster architecture, utilising a number of unique in-house developments by RSK that enable the creation of ultra-compact, highly efficient systems that hold world records for energy efficiency (RSC supercomputers consume significantly less electricity than systems from other suppliers with comparable performance), compactness (RSC solutions reduce the floor space occupied by a computing complex by up to six times), as well as in terms of computational and energy density, whilst ensuring the highest level of reliability.

Applications of data centre RSK for HPC/AI: for organisations that regularly engage in scientific, engineering and design-related high-performance computing and the creation of digital content, machine learning tasks, big data processing, and all of these in various combinations; organisations wishing to have full control over computational tasks, their results and data storage in the data centre; to ensure centralised and secure management of all processes; and to build a branch network of small data centres. The RSK Data Centre solution enables the rapid deployment, with minimal capital expenditure, of a fully functional computing complex in a compact footprint, offering maximum energy efficiency and flexible customisation to meet user requirements, complete with a fully integrated infrastructure for cooling, power supply, fire suppression, security and other systems. The solution scales from a single rack to multiple racks with a modular architecture for servers and storage systems.
Versatility: The BazIS RSK data centre comprises all the necessary software-configurable subsystems of a modern computing cluster, such as: a field of high-performance servers, a hyper-converged architecture, a high-speed storage system with Storage-on-Demand technology, communication and service networks, and the BazIS RSK power supply, cooling and management subsystem.
At the customer’s request, the RSK data centre can be equipped with a high-performance data storage system (DSS), access control systems (ACS), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), fire suppression systems and other equipment.
Applications: high-performance computing (HPC), 2D/3D graphics (CG), machine learning (ML/DL) and artificial intelligence (AI), and more, thanks to flexible configuration and expansion options.
Key benefits
Compact design (up to 153 dual-processor nodes in a single 42U rack measuring 0.8×0.8×2.0 m). A significant reduction in data centre floor space compared to an air-cooled solution.
The use of x86 and VLIW architectures
On x86 processors, each compute cabinet delivers up to 0.95 PFLOPS of performance; when using graphics accelerators, performance can reach up to 1.930 PFLOPS.
Use of Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors (including higher-end models)
Use of Elbrus 4C/8C/8SM processors
Energy efficiency (Power Usage Effectiveness = 1.06): no more than 6% of energy consumption is used for system cooling. Cooling using hot liquid up to 60 °C; operates in free cooling mode all year round.
High cost-effectiveness, reduction in operating costs
Fully independent computing nodes
High scalability – up to hundreds of PFOPs/POPs
High reliability and low noise levels, thanks to the use of RSK liquid cooling technology and the absence of moving parts
No need to install air conditioning systems
Infrastructure included in the solution
The liquid cooling infrastructure is designed to maximise cost efficiency and ease of implementation. The infrastructure is based on a modular approach, encompassing both the cooling and power supply systems. The cooling system is designed to allow for a smooth increase in capacity by installing pump units in line with the actual load from the computing equipment. Thus, thanks to the modularity of the cooling system, it is possible in the early stages of implementation to create a balanced solution that meets current cooling requirements, whilst allowing capacity to be increased without downtime simply by adding cooling and power supply modules. The liquid cooling system infrastructure is built on the basis of tried-and-tested modules featuring a patented cooling and control scheme, which ensures that exactly the amount of electricity required for cooling is consumed, based on the actual load on the computing elements and their actual quantity.
Our Management and monitoring
The automated control system for infrastructure is modular, yet can be customised for each individual site. Thanks to a wide range of built-in control units and components, the ACS can be used either as a standalone monitoring system with SMS alerts, or as a safety system capable of shutting down serviced components in critical situations. All infrastructure modules are displayed in the control system in real time, showing all key parameters. Centralised control is carried out using the BazIS RSK platform.
